We at Malaya Optical are delighted to announce our participation in the Asia Optometric Congress (AOC) 2024. This event was held on November 14th and 15th at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand. This prestigious event underscores the optometrist’s commitment to advancing optometric practices and fostering regional collaboration.
What is the Asia Optometric Congress?
The Asia Optometric Congress (AOC) founded in Malaysia in 2007 is a non-profit professional organization. This organization initially established itself to promote the optometric profession within ASEAN countries. After that, it expanded in 2014 to encompass a broader Asian optometrist during a conference in Singapore. Officially recognized as a pan-Asian organization after the Manila conference in 2016, the AOC is a key platform for:
- Vision care practitioners
- Clinicians and researchers
- Academia and industry leaders
AOC provides an avenue for professionals where they can exchange knowledge, and showcase new technologies such as optometric machines and lenses. Nonetheless, it supports the continuous improvement of optometric services in the industry.
